Saint Crux volunteers help raise £750

Our volunteers are crucial to the success of the fundraising event we run each summer at Saint Crux, the lovely old church in Pavement, at the foot of Shambles in York city centre.

In the days leading up to the event our army of cake bakers get cracking in the kitchen to make fabulous treats for us to sell and offer as refreshments, while other volunteers turn up on the day to make sure we raise as much money as possible.

Among them is a contingent from our Dunnington Support Group, who bring along bric a brac, which we supplement with books and jigsaws to sell to the public. Other helpers run the cake stall, serve up the tea and lend a hand with the washing-up.

It’s a winning combination which in 2016 raised around £750 for our charity in spite of the rainy weather.
