How the service works

We kindly ask that you give us notice, where possible, to fit you in. We have one minibus which can take up to nine passengers (plus the driver), and we work around all other patients on the schedule to make the trips as efficient as possible. This is also a great way of making friends and building a support network with people around you.

The bus is available for those travelling from York to Leeds. We offer a door-to-door service, so when you get in touch with us, we’ll need your name and address, plus details of your appointments. If your appointments are at different times from the other passengers we will, with your permission, liaise with the booking office at St. James to alter your times. You don’t need to be concerned about this. We have a great relationship with the booking office and do this all the time!

Neil Johnson

Neil is originally from Leeds but has lived in Tadcaster for 15 years. He’s a former police armed response officer. When he retired, he was intending to take six months off until he spotted our ad for a minibus driver. “I thought, this suits me down to the ground,” says Neil. “I love this job. I enjoy doing work that is appreciated – I had more people saying thank you to me in the first week here than I had in the previous 30 years!”
